What can I say? I like poetry. I like ideas and beauty and real Pleasures. I think life and God are always more complex than we give them credit for. For that reason, I hold an undergraduate degree in English – not because it could get me a job but because it organized my thoughts and exposed me to the wisdom of the world otherwise unattainable. I write to think, think to pray, and pray to live.
“The hour is striking so close above me,
so clear and sharp, …
I know that nothing has ever been real
without my beholding it.
All becoming has needed me.
My looking ripens things
and they come toward me, to meet and be met.”
(Rainer Maria Rilke, from his Book of Hours)
